Dr. Romanos is a Professor of Periodontology at Stony Brook University (SBU), School of Dental Medicine (SDM). Professor (Prof. Dr. med. dent.) of Oral Surgery/Implant Dentistry in Frankfurt, Germany; former Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Stony Brook University; Fully trained in Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and Oral Surgery in Germany and in the USA; Board Certified in Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry in Germany; Diplomate by the American Board of Periodontology; Past President of the Academy of Osseointegration Foundation and the Implantology Research Group of the IADR; Fellow of American Association for Dental Research, the Academy of Osseointegration, Int. College of Dentists, ICOI, ITI Foundation, Pierre Fauchard Academy; American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Great of NY Academy of Prosthodontics, International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics, and the American College of Dentists. He has global educational and research activities and served as Visiting Professorship/ faculty in Brazil, Italy, Spain, Malaysia, and Utah/USA. He is the author of more than 450 publications, the top 2% of scientists worldwide according to the AD scientific index 2022, 2023; editor and co-editor in seven books; over 700 presentations worldwide; lecturer in more than 50 countries; Recipient of many scientific awards, like the Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP). h-Index: 83; over 22,00 citations.
Director of Oral Surgery
Thomas G. Wiedemann, MD, PhD, DDS, Clinical Associate Professor and full-time faculty at New York University, College of Dentistry, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Prof. Wiedemann´s career consists of more than 27 years of surgical and educational experience in an academic setting and successfully operating a private practice providing the full spectrum of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant Dentistry.
He has special interests in dental emergency care, pain management, minimal invasive surgical strategies, and techniques of the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He has acquired extensive expertise in dentoalveolar and implant-surgery with multiple implant systems since 1995. He is well versed in innovative concepts of alveolar ridge augmentation and reconstruction and soft tissue regeneration, robotic guided- and piezo-surgery.
He is the author of many publications, speaker in national and international conferences on oral surgery and implantology-related topics and serves on the editorial board of several renowned and peer-reviewed scientific journals. Recently he accepted leadership as co-editor in chief for the Journal of Dentistry and Oral Sciences and as Editor in chief for Journal of Surgery and Surgical Procedures.
Director of Endodontics and Ergonomics in Dentistry
Juan Carlos Ortiz Hugues DDS, Specialist in Endodontics CEAS II, AEP, is a Specialist in Endodontics, a Master in the Academy of Microscope Dentistry, and a Certified Ergonomic professional. He has published multiple articles in the USA and around the world. He is the author of the book Ergonomics Applied to Dental Practice. He provides lectures and training in the United States and around the world. He currently serves as the President of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry.
Director of Dental Hygiene
Lynn Atkinson, RDH has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for over 30 years. Her passion for utilizing technology while delivering the highest quality of patient care keeps her practicing four days a week as the Clinical Hygiene Director for a high-performing, patient-oriented dental practice in Mission Viejo, California. Lynn lectures and provides clinical, hands-on training to dental professionals on successfully incorporating lasers and other adjunctive therapies into their protocols. For the past
several years, Lynn has been a speaker at numerous conferences across the nation, speaking on a variety of topics. She serves on the Board of Directors at the Acad my of Laser Dentistry as Auxiliary Chair, a member of the ALD Speakers Bureau, Education, Conference, and Testing Committees. Lynn is the honored recipient of the ALD 2022 Leon Goldman Clinical Excellence Award.
