Medical, Sedation & Pediatric Emergency Training for you and your team WITHOUT leaving the office!
Improve your skills through hands-on practice in a safe environment!
- Realistic Scenarios: Simulate emergencies that are most likely to occur in a dental office, such as a vasovagal syncope, allergic reactions, hypoglycemia, anaphylaxis, chest pain, and seizures. 24 medical emergencies will be covered by the dental team.
- Advanced Life Support Manikin Simulation: Uses advanced mannequins and controlled environments to create realistic experiences.
- Team-Based Training: Involves the entire dental team and designates specific roles for each member to ensure everyone is prepared to act.
- Skill Development: Helps improve technical and communication skills needed to manage emergencies, including basic life support, airway management, and the use of emergency equipment such as an AED.
- Increased Confidence: Familiarity with emergency situations increases the dental team’s confidence in their ability to manage them efficiently.
- Improved Outcomes: Offices that regularly review protocols and train for emergencies are more likely to have better outcomes
- Regular Updates: Annual or biannual training is recommended to keep up with evolving protocols and evidence, such as updated guidance on using ammonia inhalants.
- Team Preparedness: Ensures all members of the dental office are prepared to act in a crisis, not just the dentist.
- Fee for Course: $3,500 plus instructor’s expenses (flights, hotel, etc.)
- After registering, you will be contacted by the instructor for date of METDO/SETDO/ PETDO to take place in your office
- Upon completion of the course, you will receive an invoice of itemized costs from Goldman Dental Management, upon payment of these costs, CE certificates will be issued to all participants.
- For participating in METDO, SETDO, or PETDO, each person will receive 2 years of free Online Medical Emergency training from Goldman Dental Management.
- At the end of the 3rd year, you may renew your online training program at the current fee OR retake the METDO/SETDO/PETDO program.
- Over 40 CE hours available. You will receive Mock Emergency Drills for you and your staff worth one hour each.
COURSE #1
Medical Emergency Training in Dental Office (METDO)
8 Hours Hands-On CE + Online Training

This training improves skills through hands-on practice in a safe environment, often followed by a debriefing session to discuss performance. Instructors will use advanced life support resuscitation manikins. Solo training can have deadly consequences, But Team training can save lives during a crisis.
Morning Session – 8 AM – 12 PM
These 24 medical emergencies will be covered by the instructor, with each person knowing their dedicated role during each emergency.
Medical Emergencies: Anaphylaxis, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Foreign Body Obstruction, Tachycardia, Cerebrovascular Accident, Local Anesthetic Toxicity, Syncope, Narcotic Overdose, Transient Ischemic Attack, Seizure, Asthmatic Attack, Acute Adrenal Insufficiency, Acute Hyperglycemia, Allergic Reactions, Angina, Apnea, Benzodiazepine Overdose, Emesis Aspiration, Ephinephrine Overdose, Hypertension, Hyperventilation, Hypotension, Myocardial Infarction
Airway emergencies and management will be taught by the instructor. Airway hierarchy will be introduced to the dental team, so everyone knows their role. High-quality CPR will be reviewed and demonstrated by each person in the office. Automated External Defibrillator use will be reviewed and demonstrated by each person in the office. Debriefing for all emergencies, along with the implementation of documentation, will be discussed.
Pre-Arrival Requirement: The Dental office will receive a video covering 24 Medical Emergencies. Everyone must watch the video, take the test, and have the certificate in hand before the In-Office Simulation Training begins.

Sedation Emergency Training in Dental Office (SETDO)
8 Hours Hands-On CE + Online Training

This training improves skills through hands-on practice in a safe environment, often followed by a debriefing session to discuss performance. Instructors will use advanced life support resuscitation manikins. Solo training can have deadly consequences, But Team training can save lives during a crisis.
Morning Session – 8 AM – 12 PM | 1 PM – 3 PM
These 24 medical emergencies and 9 sedation emergencies will be covered by the instructor with each person knowing their dedicated role during each emergency.
Medical Emergencies: Anaphylaxis, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Foreign Body Obstruction, Tachycardia, Cerebrovascular Accident, Local Anesthetic Toxicity, Syncope, Narcotic Overdose, Transient Ischemic Attack, Seizure, Asthmatic Attack, Acute Adrenal Insufficiency, Acute Hyperglycemia, Allergic Reactions, Angina, Apnea, Benzodiazepine Overdose, Emesis Aspiration Ephinephrine Overdose, Hypertension, Hyperventilation, Hypotension, Myocardial Infarction.
Sedation Emergencies: Bradycardia, VFib/Pulseless Vtach, Malignant Hyperthermia, Laryngospasm, Apnea, Benzodiazepine Overdose, Narcotic Overdose, Hypoxia, Tachycardia.
Afternoon Session – 1 PM – 5 PM
Airway emergencies and management will be taught by the instructor. Airway hierarchy will be introduced to the dental team, so everyone knows their role. High-quality CPR will be reviewed and demonstrated by each person in the office.

Pediatric Emergency Training in Dental Office (PETDO)
8 Hours Hands-On CE + Online Training

PETDO is an all-day simulation training program for dentists AND their staff on pediatric emergencies and medical emergencies performed in the dentist’s office. It is a practice of using realistic scenarios to help dental teams confidently manage various pediatric emergencies and medical emergencies.
This training improves skills through hands-on practice in a safe environment, often followed by a debriefing session to discuss performance. Instructors will use advanced life support resuscitation manikins. Solo training can have deadly consequences, But Team training can save lives during a crisis.
Morning Session – 8 AM – 12 PM | 1 PM – 3 PM
These 24 medical emergencies and 12 pediatric emergencies will be covered by the instructor with each person knowing their dedicated role during each emergency.

Program (Readiness, Emergencies & Airway Development program for Your team). He co-authored a book on medical emergencies, has over fifty (50) online courses on medical emergencies, sedation emergencies, and pediatric emergencies, along with almost 100 articles on the subject. He is dedicated to Patient Safety in the dental office.
